Defining and identifying resilience
What is resilience? Just what does it consist of? And how do you know if you have it or not? Our self assessment questionnaire will help you find out.
The key components: physical, mental & emotional resilience
There are three classic sources of resilience. Find out what they are, whether you have them, and how important each is to your own personal effectiveness and well being.
Why is it important?
Resilience, in all its forms, can be compared to a reservoir: if it's fully topped up, you may manage life's challenges well; if it's depleted, almost empty, the same challenges may floor you. These training courses will help you build and maintain your resilience reservoir.
What gets to you...?
A situation that can have demoralising concerns for one person may have no impact on someone else. So in terms of resilience, no 'one size fits all'. You need to know how, why, where and when you need to be at your most resilient. Our diagnostic questionnaire will help you map your resilience needs.
Ways of building and maintaining resilience
These training courses will explore how to create the resilience you need, so that you manage your resilience, rather than leave it too late and to chance.
Your personal action plan...
Everyone is unique, and so are their resilience needs. These courses will help you build your personal action plan so you can reliably manage your own resilence.
Who is resilience training for?
Our resilience training courses are ideal for anyone who wants to check out and improve their own physical, mental or emotional resilience. They may be particularly helpful to someone who wants to:

schedule a chatResilience Workshop Activities
In the 90-minute workshop we will define resilience, and identify the three core components - then help you assess your current resilience in these three areas; the half day workshop then helps you identify what you can do in each of these three areas to maximise your resilience; and the full day workshop also allows you to practice any of your chosen tchniques through a series of challenges, and as a result build your own personal resilience action plan.
Never 'death by powerpoint'
We always provide a variety of learning approaches in each of our workshops.
Each workshop typically includes learning input from the trainer, supported by a range of mixed media, interactive elements, discussion and group work. Most workshops also include case work and practical skill-development activities to apply the learning, with more time dedicated to this in the longer courses.
'Want more?' resource pack
In addition to providing a copy of any slide deck, we always provide a ‘want more’ section, of curated resources including book summaries, podcasts, downloads and articles.
My attention can easily wander, but this was never the case here, largely due to the variety of learning approaches used. Never a dull moment!
What are the benefits of resilience training?
Resilience Training Frequently Asked Quesitons
How do I become more resilient?
The starting point is to assess your current level of resilience, across a range of key situations. Then you will need to assess how easily you can build and maintain your resilience in those critical areas. Our self-assessment questionnaire will help.
Is resilience innate, or can it be learned or acquired?
Some people will be naturally more resilient than others. But they may not know how to build and sustain such a resource once it has been utilised and perhaps depleted. And everyone can learn ways to increase their resilience in the areas in which they are most vulnerable.
What is the most important aid to personal resilience?
Being honestly self-aware of your own resilience, and of any gaps in that resilience that need to be topped up - closely followed by being proactive, so you are as prepared as you can to be resilient, should the demand arise.
Which of these three resilience training courses should I sign up for?
It depends. If you want to know the three key components, and how you measure up against them, then our shortest workshop may be all you need. The half-day course will be most helpful if you want to work out how to build and sustain your resilience in key areas, and the full day will allow you to test any resilience skills, tools and techniques, leading to creating your own personal action plan.
