Coaching Program Frequently Asked Quesitons
How is coaching different from other learning approaches?
There are undoubtedly overlaps, but coaching is essentially an approach that is focused on the coach using key qualities, skills, models and techniques to help the other person arrive at solutions for themselves.
Why is coaching becoming so popular?
...in simple terms, because it is effective, and also because most people with a commitment to coaching can quickly acquire the necessary skills, because they are easy to understand and use.
How do I start to become an effective coach?
You need a commitment to the principles of coaching, which essentially requires you to draw out information from the other person, rather than 'put information in'. A good coach always wants, and works for, the individual taking personal ownership for ideas and decisions, rather than developing dependence on the coach.
How do I decide which of these coaching skills for managers training courses is best?
It just depends on your current level of expertise and experience. If you know very little, then the bite size workshop will quickly get you up to speed; the half day will equip you with knowing the key skills and models, and the full day will allow you to practice using such skills and models in a variety of settings.
